Michael Woods
Being the son of a piano teacher Michael Woods (Out of Office) was always destined for a musical life. Michael went to various music colleges in London through his teenage years including Pimlico and The London College of Music.
Michael Woods is now one of the UK's most popular producers and DJs, having remixed everyone from Ian Van Dahl & Sonique to Iio & Energy 52 and having already scored two chart hits under one of his production names Warrior and DJ'd at some of the UK's most credible venues Michael now plans to emerge from the shadows of the underground dance scene once again under the name Out of Office.
Michael's musicality stems from his ability as a pianist - both he and his sister (singer Marcella Woods - vocalist on "Hands Up") were taught music by their father and attained grade eight piano as well as a multitude of other instruments. Michael pays much gratitude to DJ/Producer Matt Darey who got him into the business and mentored him through the early years of his career.
Although Out Of Office is a new name to the club chart, it's simply the latest alter ego of Hackney DJ and producer Michael Woods who previously topped the chart in 2000 as Warrior, with a tune of the same name which also went on to retail success, reaching number 19 on the OCC sales chart. He has also released singles as Michael Antonio, and under his own name.
Hands Up's gestation started late last year, when it was first circulated on limited white label and immediately picked up support from Roger Sanchez, Pete Tong, Judge Jules, David Guetta and Meck. One of the summer hits of Ibiza, it combines club credibility with crossover appeal, and climbed to the daytime playlists of radio giants Radio1 Galaxy and Kiss FM - along with many others. "Break of Dawn" is the latest single to emerge from Michael's studio and is already the talk of the town having been championed by DJ Pete Tong on Radio 1. It's already being discussed for daytime radio at Radio1 and is set to be massive this coming winter!
